As a MARC initiative, Bobcatalyst supports researchers through commercialization resources and internal funding that help early-stage discoveries move toward real-world impact.
Core Research Operations
Core Research Operations (CRO) supports Texas State’s research and education missions by managing advanced laboratory facilities and shared scientific equipment across campus. CRO staff provide training, maintenance, and technical support to faculty, students, and external partners, enabling sponsored research, university–industry collaboration, and hands-on learning while advancing Texas State’s goal of achieving Tier 1 research status.
Ingram Hall Makerspace
The Ingram Hall Makerspace serves as a collaborative hub where the TXST community transforms concepts to reality. The facility features the Paw Print Studio for rapid prototyping alongside an industrial space equipped with a versatile suite of fabrication equipment and tools. Whether supporting rigorous coursework, groundbreaking research, student organization initiatives, or faculty-guided student personal projects, the makerspace provides the essential resources for hands-on innovation and creative problem-solving.
Innovation, Commercialization, and Engagement
Innovation, Commercialization, and Engagement supports Texas State’s research and innovation missions by helping faculty protect, develop, and translate discoveries into real-world applications. Through the Office of Commercialization and Innovation, researchers receive guidance on intellectual property, licensing, industry partnerships, and startup development, helping move innovations from the lab to the marketplace and community.
STAR Park
The Science, Technology, and Advanced Research (STAR) Park is a 58-acre research and innovation site that supports applied research, technology development, and commercialization at Texas State University. The park is home to STAR One, Texas State’s first technology incubator, and provides collaborative space for university, industry, and startup partners.
Student Entrepreneurship Opportunities
MARC supports student entrepreneurship at Texas State University by connecting students with applied research opportunities, commercialization resources, and campus partners. Through collaboration with the Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship (CIE), students gain access to tools, mentorship, and programming that help develop 21st-century skills and turn ideas into real-world impact.
